What is a Tomato Pie?

A fourth generation Sicilian baker, named Matteo Giordano arrived in New York City in the early 1900's. As he grew into a young man, he followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfathers. His family's prized possession was a book of recipes that had been handed down from generation to generation. Among these treasured recipes was the key to his future fame and fortune, The Tomato Pie recipe.

A “Tomato Pie” is the ultimate original pizza that was created in Italy . It is a light, flaky pastry crust that is thicker on the sides and thinner in the center, as the cheese covers the entire circumference. Unlike a traditional deep-dish pizza, a tomato pie crust is light and airy which creates a crispy delicacy that truly melts in your mouth. The rich homemade tomato sauce is made from whole tomatoes, tomato puree and fresh herbs, topped with the highest quality imported cheeses and baked to a golden brown perfection.

The original recipe in its entirety is still used today, under the strictest supervision to maintain the quality and consistency.

Our menu has expanded to include whole wheat crust, in addition to our fresh homemade salads served in French Boule breads and a healthy selection of wrap sandwiches.
